NINA M. HENNESSY is an attorney with the law firm of Whitted Takiff LLC. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hennessy worked as an associate at Matt Cohen & Associates and earlier as a solo practitioner representing clients in special education advocacy matters including IEPs and 504 Plans. She also represents high school, college and graduate school students under the Americans with Disabilities Act to obtain testing accommodations for college and graduate school entrance exams and professional licensure exams as well as to receive accommodations during their college and graduate school education.

Prior to her advocacy work, Ms. Hennessy worked as an associate at Grunyk Family Law in family law, and was a partner at O’Keefe Lyons & Hynes p/k/a O’Keefe Ashenden et al. specializing in real estate taxation law.

Ms. Hennessy’s volunteer activities have included service as Co-President, Co-Vice President and the Family Connections Chairperson for Naper Elementary School’s Home-School Committee, as well as Staff Activities Chair at the Washington Junior High School’s Home-School Committee. Ms. Hennessy has also volunteered as a Catechist at St. Raphael Catholic Church.

Ms. Hennessy received her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from DePaul University. She also possesses a Certificate In Educational Advocacy from William & Mary Law School. Ms. Hennessy is currently a member of the DuPage County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates.
